I have a 2018 Honda Civic Sedan LX. I hate that there isn't a CD player, no XM radio. The radio in it sucks. Last month on my way back to NC from a drive to California, I was in the mountains of NC and I took my foot of the gas, the cruise control was off and the engine was very loud and sounded like if you put it in neutral and rev it up. Well, last night on my way back to NC from Nevada and I was exiting I-40 and the same thing happened as I hit close to a stop sign. I was pushing the breaks but the car didn't stop.

Please note, navigation updates can also be performed by your local Honda dealership. To perform these updates you will need the following:. 16 GB USB drive. High-speed Internet connection. Up to 4 hours of time.
I went right through an intersection and up the ramp to get back on the highway. After tapping the gas petal several times it finally stopped. I could have been killed. I was terrified. I still have 8 hours left in my trip and some of that is mountain driving again. We are loyal Honda owners. We loved the Element.
Let the dealership talk me into trading my Element for this Civic that is trying to kill me. I have had my car for almost a month now, and it makes me finally love driving again! While not strictly necessary, I really appreciate the side and rear cameras, particularly during my city driving. The seats are really comfortable, and the interior is beautiful.
The car is overall gorgeous, Honda truly stepped up their game with this year's Civic! I haven't had the time yet to sit down and figure out the Bluetooth options, but I really look forward to being able to effortlessly connect my phone to the car for music and GPS. Initially, I was wary of the button-start and touch-unlocking, but now that I understand them, I am really excited for the added safety and convenience. She's such a smooth ride, and, while not a racing car, has the capacity to have a little kick if you find yourself needing to accelerate quickly. I 100% recommend going in yourself for a test drive. To start, I will say the gas mileage that the Honda Civic gets is fantastic!
I get about 36 mpg, and it helps me a lot since I am a full time college student and also working part time. The inside of the Civic is very roomy, luxurious, and sleek. One thing I do not enjoy is the touch screen in the Honda Civic. Mine has scratched so easily because the dirt and dust that collects on it. Wiping it off without scratching it is almost impossible. That would be my only complaint!
One very cool feature that this car also has is a side view camera on the passenger side mirror. Whenever I put my blinker on to turn right, the camera view pops up on my touchscreen and I can see any potential hazards that may be in the way before turning. The Honda Civic ex sedan is a great car and I highly suggest it.
Honda 1.5T L15B7 Engine Problems and ReliabilityThe 1.5T engine doesn't warm up and produces enough heat while idling. This feature is a big disadvantage for a cold climate operation. The engine is so efficient and has minimal wasted heat. Many owners say it won’t produce any heat until they start driving. This issue doesn't allow the engines to fully reach operating temperature on short trips. A cold engine can develop condensation and excess fuel vapors which travels down into the crankcase where it mixes with the engine oil in the oil pan. A direct fuel injection aggravates that problem, because fuel, sprayed into the combustion chamber directly, sticks to the cylinder walls.
That all lead to the most reported problems for vehicles with Honda 1.5L turbo engine - a high or rising engine oil level due to oil/gas dilution problem. The problem with diluted oil has common symptoms: gas smells inside a cabin; a higher-than-normal engine oil level; check engine light comes on; engine misfires. The manufacturer knows about that problem and already introduced a solution that consists of several service campaigns which will include software updates, oil change, a new drain plug washer, and in some cases, the replacing of the climate control unit.Carbon build up on the back side of the intake valves is a problem of all engines with direct injection there is no port injection at all. This process is exacerbated even more during short trips on a cold engine.
The 1.5t engine is relatively new and still doesn’t have many consumer reports about carbon deposition, but, the other newest Honda’s DI engines started bringing problems related to carbon build up at mileage about 50-60k miles.
